Compare my competitor, Chad Choate, to me, Sean Conley
Let’s compare my competitor, Chad Choate, to me, Sean Conley: When Chad was born in 1984, I was 17, a student at South East High and was working as a cook at a chicken place called Bo jangles. Before Chad started Kindergarten, I worked at Mc Donald’s, Long John Silver’s, Little Caesar Pizza, Win Dixie, Publix, and Pirates Cove. I had graduated from South East High and started going part time to Manatee Community College (MCC). When Chad was in elementary school, I worked at Thornton Mazda as a parts driver, then as a mechanic, while still going to school and I transferred from MCC to the University of South Florida (USF). In 1995 when Chad was starting middle school, I left Thornton Mazda and worked as a substitute teacher, I finished my BA in History with a minor in Anthropology, I enlisted in the United States Navy as a Electronics Technician and was assigned to the USS CONSTELLATION. In 1998 Chad started High School at Manatee (he may have had a job, but I don’t know if he worked while in High School, mean while I was selected for Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned as a Naval Officer, went to Cryptologic training, assigned as a Direct Support (DIRSUP) Officer, deployed twice on the USNS STALWART doing counter drug mission, deployed once onboard the USS ARLEIGH BURKE on patrol in the Arabian Gulf, assigned as the division officer of the Signals Warfare Support Center (SWSC), went to the Office of Naval Intelligence on September 11th 2001 and was across the river when the Pentagon was struck. Was assigned as the Force Protection Officer and Security Manager and tasked to improve the security for Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) Norfolk and also assigned as the division officer for two DIRSUP divisions. When Chad graduated high school and during his college years (I still don’t know if he was working or was able to attend school without having to work), I transferred from NSGA Norfolk to the USS SPRUANCE as the Assistant Operations Officer and lead the cryptologist and Intelligence team onboard, I deployed to the Arabian Gulf standing bridge watch, Combat Information Watch, was the Senior Intelligence Officer, was part of the Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) teams and boarded over 100 small vessels, I transferred from there to COMUSNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLEET as was assigned as the Fleet Cryptologic Resource Officer (CRC). Around 2007 Chad went on to graduate college and began teaching and coaching at Manatee High School and he stated he did this for 10 years, In those 10 years, I left active duty and became a reservist assigned to USSOCOM DET 108, I also became a intelligence contractor and worked at USCENTCOM, In 2010-2011 I was activated and was assigned to FOURTHFLEET as the Battle Watch Captain (BWC) and was the Admirals operational watch lead, and I was advanced to Lieutenant Commander (LCDR). In 2011 I returned to USCENTCOM as a intelligence contractor and did Vendor Vetting to ensure terrorist were not members of companies doing work in Afghanistan, in 2012 I was diagnosed with Hereditary Motory Sensory Neuropathy (HMSN)/Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) Disease and medically retired from the Reserves in2013. Also in 2013, I started with the Intelligence Systems Support Office (ISSO) and worked as a Big Data intelligence analyst that specifically looked at the hard problems that were affecting DoD intelligence. In 2015 I went to USSOUTHCOM as the liaison officer (LNO) for USSTRATCOM/JIFIC-ISR. 2017 to now, Chad stopped teaching and became a Financial Advisor and was appointed by Gov DeSantis to the School Board when Dr Hopes left for a position as a county administrator, I left USSTRATCOM/JIFIC-ISR and went back to USCENTCOM and was part of a special group that worked with Intelligence analyst and ISR collection mangers. In 2018 I left USCENTCOM and went and worked on the Joint Staff/J32 for a year, then for a year I was the lead for a quick Reaction Test that was working with USSOUTHCOM on innovated ISR. In 2020, right before Covid hit, I returned to USCENTCOM and was a planner that was tasked to develop new instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for ISR aircraft post mission products. I also was assigned to a team that conducted the annual ISR planning. In January 2022, I retired from doing intelligence contract work because my disease (HMSN/CMT) was making long distant commutes dangerous as the ability to feel my feet and use my legs after an hour in the car greatly diminished. Also in January of 2022 I started taking classes at the State College of Florida (SCF) and took care of my father while he was dying of cancer (he passed in March). In June of 2022, I watched another school shooting unfold on the news and decided that I needed to do something to prevent these attacks. That was when I decided to run for Manatee County School Board District 4.
