Candidate Sean Conley

The reason that I decided to run for Manatee County School Board, District 4 was to make the schools hard targets against school shootings, and to ensure that the policies and oversight of the county schools were growing properly in the modern communications domain. As a father and grandfather, I have seen the growth of the internet, smart phones, and social media in ways that impact the learning environment and I do not believe there are sufficient policies or training to ensure the safety of students and still allow for educational growth.  As a prior United States Naval Officer that specialized in Information Warfare, Security Management and Military Intelligence Analysis, I am extremely familiar with how the modern communications domain can be manipulated into a toxic environment, how the security of building can be improved, and how structured all source analysis can be utilized in the decision making process.        

 Hello Manatee County Voters,  I am Sean Conley and I am a Candidate in the 2022 primaries for Manatee County School Board, District 4. I am starting this Blog to assist voters in  getting to know me and why I think I am the best choice for their vote. Let's start with my Bio: I am a native Floridian from the Tampa Bay Area, and Graduated from South East High School, Bradenton Florida in 1987 and from the University of South Florida in 1996.   From age 16 to 23, I worked in a variety of food industries jobs as a cook, assistant Manager, and Manager. At age 23 I worked at Thornton Mazda as a parts attendant and later as a mechanic. At age 28 I worked as a Substitute Teacher in Manatee County.   In 1996, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician and served onboard the USS CONSTELLATION.
